The Amazon Basics Cross-cut shredder transforms paper into confetti-like pieces measuring 3/16 by 1-9/16 inches (5 by 40 mm) while meeting security level P-3 standards. It has the capability to shred up to 12 sheets of 20-pound bond paper at a time, as well as credit cards (one at a time through a dedicated slot), staples, or small paper clips.

Equipped with a 4-mode power switch (auto, off, reverse, forward), this shredder features an auto start and anti-jam auto reverse function to minimize and clear paper jams. LED indicators for power on, overload, overheat, and misalignment make it easy to monitor the shredder's status. The shredder has a 7-minute on / 30-minute off cycle to prevent overheating, and it will automatically shut off if it runs continuously beyond the maximum run time to protect the motor.

With an 8.7-inch paper-entry width and a lift handle for easy maneuverability, the shredder has an easy-to-empty 4.8-gallon bin for convenience. As part of Amazon Basics' quality inspections, every shredder is tested before shipping, so it is normal to see some paper shreds from the testing process.

Please note that it is important not to spray or keep any aerosol products in or around the shredder, and metallic credit cards should not be shredded.
